№ 03 — Format

Why Choose Uncompressed WAV Audio

WAV stores the rendered PCM audio without MP3's lossy compression. That makes it a practical choice when the result will be edited, mixed, archived or encoded into another delivery format later. The trade-off is a larger download.

Lossless output preserves the samples produced by the selected SoundFont and mix; it does not improve the underlying instruments or MIDI performance. SoundFont choice, note data, controllers and track balance still shape what you hear.

№ 04 — Settings

Prepare a WAV Render

  1. Add the source. Load one or more .mid or .midi files from your device.
  2. Choose and preview a SoundFont. Use an available sound or load an .sf2 or .sf3 file, then listen before exporting.
  3. Prepare the mix. Adjust track volume, pan and instruments, or mute and solo parts. Full mixes and individual stems are available.
  4. Set PCM options. Choose 44.1 or 48 kHz and 16- or 24-bit output. Optional TPDF dither is available when preparing lower-bit-depth audio.
  5. Define the render. Select the full song or a time range, set fades and release tail if needed, then render and download.

What determines the result

The SoundFont supplies the instrument character, the MIDI supplies the performance, and the mixer controls the balance. Sample rate and bit depth define the exported PCM file; choose settings that match the next stage of your workflow rather than increasing them without a clear need.

WAV conversion questions

Is this MIDI to WAV converter private?

Yes. The MIDI is parsed and rendered in your browser. Miditor does not require an upload or account for the conversion workflow.

Which WAV sample rates are available?

The converter supports 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz output. Choose 48 kHz when it matches a video or production timeline; use 44.1 kHz for common music workflows.

Can I adjust the volume before downloading?

Yes. Use track or master volume, optional normalization, range, tail and configurable fades before previewing or exporting the WAV file.

Can Miditor export FLAC?

Not currently. MP3 and WAV are the available audio formats. Export WAV when you need an uncompressed source for later transcoding in another application.

Does a WAV file preserve editable MIDI notes?

No. WAV stores rendered audio, not MIDI notes, tracks or controller events. Keep the original or edited .mid file when you may need to change the arrangement later.
