What to include in a support request

Describe the goal

Start with the task you were trying to complete, such as playing a type-1 MIDI file, moving notes in the piano roll or exporting an arrangement through the online MIDI converter.

List exact steps

Write the shortest sequence that reproduces the problem. Include the page used, relevant settings and whether the behavior happens every time or only with one file.

Share the environment

Include the browser name and version, operating system, device type and any visible error message. A screenshot can help, provided it contains no private information.

Explain expected and actual results

Tell us what you expected Miditor to do and what happened instead. This distinction often makes the difference between a report that can be investigated and one that cannot.

03 — Safety

Before sharing a MIDI file

Most support requests can be diagnosed from a clear description, browser details and a minimal reproduction. If a specific MIDI file is essential, use a file you created and are permitted to share, or create a small replacement that demonstrates the same problem. Wait for confirmation before emailing a large attachment.

Miditor's normal browser MIDI editor keeps opened files on your device. Sending a file by email is a separate, deliberate action. Never send unreleased client work, confidential material or copyrighted music without permission.

04 — Response

What happens after you contact us

Miditor is an evolving software project, so response times can vary and not every feature request can be accepted. Reports with a narrow scope, clear reproduction steps and a real user outcome are the easiest to evaluate. We may ask follow-up questions, suggest a workaround, link a duplicate report or explain why a request does not fit the current direction.

For a broader view of the product's goals and open-source origins, read About Miditor. Please use [email protected] for genuine project communication, not unsolicited marketing, automated submissions or unrelated promotions.

Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

Where should I report a Miditor bug?

Email [email protected] with the browser and operating system, the steps that caused the problem, what you expected, and what actually happened.

Can I send a private MIDI file for troubleshooting?

First describe the issue without attaching private or copyrighted material. We can suggest a safe next step if a sample file is essential for troubleshooting.

Can I request a new MIDI feature?

Yes. Explain the musical task, the result you need, and why current tools do not solve it. Concrete workflows are more useful than feature names alone.
