Miditor combines transport controls with a synchronized visual view, so you can listen and inspect the same performance without installing a desktop application. Recent local files remain in the current browser for convenient reopening, while curated tracks include source and license information for review. The player works in supported modern mobile and desktop browsers. File-picker behavior and available storage locations depend on the browser and operating system.
№ 05 — Why browser playback
Desktop MIDI players work well, but they require installing software, and many are tied to a single operating system. A browser-based player removes those barriers: open the page on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS or a tablet, drop in a file, and start listening. There is nothing to install, nothing to update, and no account to create.
For quick tasks this matters more than it sounds. Previewing an unfamiliar file, checking whether a MIDI uses the right instruments, slowing a passage for study, or confirming an arrangement before sending it to someone else — these are moments where launching a full application feels heavier than the task deserves. A focused online player keeps the effort proportional to the job.
Because Miditor's player processes the file locally, the same privacy boundary applies here as elsewhere in the suite: the MIDI data is parsed and scheduled for playback on your device rather than uploaded to a server. Recent local files are stored only in the current browser so you can reopen them quickly.

No. Miditor parses the MIDI file and schedules playback locally in your browser. The file is not uploaded to Miditor, and Recent files are stored only in this browser so you can reopen them quickly.
Yes. Choose a playback speed from 0.5× to 2× or enter a BPM between 30 and 240. Set A and B at the current playhead positions to repeat one section without modifying the original MIDI file.
Yes. Browse the live curated catalog through trending selections, easy pieces, a random mix, or filters by instrument, style and composer. Each record keeps its license and source URL; review the MIDI track licenses page before reusing or redistributing a file.
A MIDI file stores notes, timing and instrument instructions rather than recorded sound. The selected SoundFont interprets those instructions, so its instruments may sound different from the synthesizer used for another recording.
The player can mute or solo tracks for listening. To create a new MIDI containing selected material, continue in the MIDI editor; to create audio stems, use the MIDI converter's track export controls.
